Disasters happen. Prepare Now.
Safe water is vital to everyday life, health, sanitation, and public well being.
We minimize risks to the water system with facility upgrades, including building new facilities to meet high seismic standards. Water agencies in our area also coordinate emergency response, since it impacts all of our communities.
In spite of our best efforts, it is impossible to completely eliminate damage to critical facilities during major disasters. Prolonged power outages and severe weather events can also compromise delivery of water service. In the event of an emergency customers should plan for self sufficiency for a minimum of 72 hours. In a major disaster, it could be more than a week before help is available.
