Two Sources for Your Drinking Water

Sunrise Water Authority uses two types of sources for drinking water; surface water drawn from the Clackamas River and ground water extracted from wells within our service territory.
Surface Water
Surface water is treated before distribution at one of three plants: the North Clackamas County Water Commission, Clackamas River Water, or South Fork Water Board (emergency supplies only).
Ground Water
Ground water is the term used for any water that is withdrawn from underground water sources. In our case we have two forms of ground water: water drawn from wells and water that is brought in from other sources and stored within natural aquifers.
